Pamela Hurt is the late mother of famous radio host, Bobby Bones –currently a competitor on Dancing With The Stars.



Pamela’s son is well known for hosting a nationally-syndicated iHeartRadio morning show.

The 38-year-old has been partnered with none other than the beautiful and talented Sharna Burgess.

Pamela Hurt welcomed son Bobby on April 2, 1980; at the time she was just a teenager. Pamela Hurt gave birth to Bobby when she was just 15.

Pamela, was left by Bobby’s father to raise him. The former teen parents did tie the knot but Bobby’s father split after five-years.

Pamela received the support of her mother, Hazel Hurt and the two women raised him in Mountain Pine, Arkansas.

During interviews, Bobby has been open about his mother’s addictions. Pamela had a drinking addiction and disappeared for days. Once he began making money he bought his mom a trailer and land but that meant, Pam Hurt had money to do more drugs. Unfortunately she died in 2011.

When speaking about her, he says she was a good person, he knew she cared but was not able to help her.

According to an obituary, she Pamela Hurt Sandage, 47, of Hot Springs, died Friday, October 21, 2011. She was born March 8, 1964, to the late Lloyd Hurt and Hazel Rhodes Hurt. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Hurt. In addition to Bobby, she is survived by a daughter, Amanda Estell.

Pamela’s son became interested in radio at a tender age and his interest proved to be the right choice. Nowadays he is noted for his radio program The Bobby Bones Show. He was promoted to VP, Creative Director of iHeartCountry earlier this year.

The Arkansas native is often described as the most powerful man in country music. His program is syndicated on nearly 100 stations coast to coast to more than 3 million listeners each weekday morning. He also hosts the weekly countdown show Country Top 30 with Bobby Bones.

Bones’s other achievements include winning awards for national on-air personality of the year and national broadcast personality of the year from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, respectively.
