Blake Rushing is the proud husband of lawyer Allison Jones Rushing –in line to become one of the youngest federal appellate judges in the country.



Blake’s wife was nominated last August by president Trump, to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals for the seat previously held by Judge Allyson Kay Duncan, who is retiring. She is the youngest person Trump has nominated for a seat on the circuit courts of appeals to date.

Allison Jones Rushing was born in 1982, the North Carolina native is a partner at Williams & Connolly, where she has worked since 2011. She has been practicing law for about eight years since graduating from law school.

She attended Wake Forest University graduating summa *** laude in 2004. She then attended Duke University School of Law and graduated law school magna *** laude in 2007. While at Duke she was the executive editor of the Duke Law Journal.

Before joining Williams & Connolly, she clerked for conservative Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil M. Gorsuch. She worked for Gorsuch when he was a judge at the Tenth Circuit.

She’s experienced in criminal law, prisoner petitions, products liability, intellectual property, commercial disputes, constitutional issues, and a vast array of federal statutes.

She and husband, Blake Rushing have been married for nearly three years. The couple met at her church, Capitol Hill Baptist.

Blake Vincent Rushing and Allison were married on November 5, 2016; the couple have since welcomed one child, son James.

According to his LinkedIn, Blake Rushing is a consultant at CrossCountry Consulting where he’s worked since 2011. He previously served as the CrossCountry Community Service Sponsor.

Blake attended the University of Mary Washington from 2002 until 2005 with a B.S. Business Administration. He also holds a masters in accounting from the University of Virginia. After college he worked at Ernst & Young and spent time abroad with the Adventures in Missions.
