Abby Sutherland Miss Crawford gone too soon

A tribute to Abby Sutherland

Abby Sutherland was tragically killed in a car accident in Indiana. Officials confirmed the bubbly blonde who last month had been crowned Miss Crawford County, was involved in a single-car accident on Tree Drive west of Palmyra at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.



20-year-old Abby Leigh Sutherland worked as a hostess at the Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth, which reports say it will be closed today in her memory.

She is survived by sister Alisa Sutherland and brother Joshua Sutherland –who wrote on Facebook:

‘Heaven has one more beautiful angel,’ ‘You will be greatly missed. Love you.’

Everyone who got to know her, quickly fell in love; restaurant colleagues were thrilled she had won the pageant, The Overlook Restaurant General Manager Katherine Morris said: “She would do anything,

she was just a ray of sun, that was Abby.” Director of Miss Crawford County pageant, Ashley Bullington, said he felt you had ‘a friend for life’ in meeting Abby.

A friend identified as Tiger Flannery told outlets: “She loved everything about life, had so much to give, so much left ahead of her, she was amazing,”

It was also revealed Abby had been on a date Friday, the night before the accident. Reports say the car Sutherland was in came over a hill, went off the road, hit several trees and rolled; Abby was found trapped inside and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Abby who is described by friends as hardworking, also had a second job at local car dealership, Heritage Ford of Corydon Indiana.

Abby who was born March 28, was homeschooled according to her Facebook page, she was scheduled to take part in County Queens Day at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 16.

The driver hasn’t been identified and was airlifted to a hospital in Louisville.
