Another blast takes peoples lives! This time in downtown West, about 80 miles south of Dallas, Texas. What are the odds! Two different explosions take place on the same week and leaves people in awe and the world in perfect chaos! It makes you wonder what is going on! Are we just living in such dark times!

The week we are living is been plagued by dark, violent and negative news; facts that generate in us a state of uncertainty and that one way or the other affects us all. The terrible terrorist attacked in the Boston marathon, marked by death and mutilation of innocent victims is being replayed by the hundreds of innocent victims this time in Texas. The small community of 2800 people woke up to a devastating reality.

This shadowy moments shook the ground with the strength of a small earthquake and could be heard dozens of miles away. But one thing is different from this dreadful scene, Waco police Sgt. William Patrick Swanton said early Thursday morning There is no indication the blast was anything other than an industrial accident, he said.

So apparently there is no one to blame for this terrible incident but when it comes to the loss of human lives and the huge impact it caused from the images is only natural to want to get to the bottom of all. Even though if it was an unfortunate thing the world needs an explanation, but we’ll get to that a little later.

West Fertilizer Co., the scene of the massive explosion that happened on Wednesday night destroyed as many as 75 homes and buildings, leveled an apartment complex, forced a nursing home to evacuate its residents and blanketed the area in a cloud of toxic fumes!

Although Swanton disregarded the chance of being caused by human hand, The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is conducting an investigation in order to get further information and declaring it a crime scene until further notice.

It is truly devastating and heartbreaking to see those images, we can see the smoke cloud a resident tweeted! Pretty intense! From the 179 hospitalized at list 24 are in critical condition; there are people with burns, people with respiratory distress due to the chemical inhalation, others suffered ‘blast injuries’ including punctured lungs, eardrums, irritated eyes and possibly wounds caused by flying shrapnel and debris.

But what could have caused this unfortunate situation? It turns out to be that The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality investigated West Fertilizer on June 20, 2006, after receiving a complaint of a strong ammonia smell. Agency records show the person who lodged the complaint said the ammonia smell was ‘very bad last night’ and lingered until after they went to bed.

Later that summer, the plant was fined by the Environmental Protection agency for failing to have a risk management plan that satisfied federal standards, an EPA report shows, WFAA reported. It was issued with a $2,300 penalty on August 14, 2006, records show.

So as I was saying there is always someone to blame…Investigators are still looking into this whole mess and hopefully it will be cleared up soon.

Our thought are with the many in surgery and in critical condition and their families.
