Laura Herring
Have you met Laura Herring? She is the pretty wife of Attorney General of Virginia Mark Herring. The Tennessee native & Virginia resident since he moved with his family as a child admitted he wore blackface during a college party in the ’80s
“In 1980, when I was a 19-year-old undergraduate in college, some friends suggested we attend a party dressed like rappers we listened to at the time, like Kurtis Blow, and perform a song,” Herring said. “It sounds ridiculous even now writing it. But because of our ignorance and glib attitudes – and because we did not have an appreciation for the experiences and perspectives of others – we dressed up and put on wigs and brown makeup.”
“This was a onetime occurrence and I accept full responsibility for my conduct.”
Mrs. Herring was born Laura A. Huff, on August 6, 1960. She is the daughter of the late Thomas Dale Huff and Margie Huff.
Mrs. & Mr. Herring tied the knot on August 12, 1989, and have two children; daughter Peyton E. Herring, 26, and son Timothy R. Herring, 22. They reside in Leesburg, Virginia.
