Betty Price

Betty Price is the long time wife of Congressman Tom Price, her husband is the representative from Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District and Chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Betty’s husband was born Thomas Edmunds Price on October 8, 1954. The Michigan native earned both his Bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan. Price moved to Atlanta for his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Emory University. Following this training, Representative Price opened an orthopaedic practice in Roswell.

Prior to running for office, Representative Price also served as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at Emory University while being the Medical Director of the orthopaedic clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta.

In 1996, Dr. Price decided to enter elective politics prevailing in both primary and general elections to represent Georgia’s 56th State Senate District.

Tom 62, has a new achievement to celebrate. He was nominated for secretary of Health and Human Services by Donald Trump.

He and his wife have been married for many years. Get ready to meet, the lovely Mrs. Price.

Betty Price, born Elizabeth Clark is, Like her husband, also an MD and fellow representative. Dr. Betty Price was recently elected member of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Betty who was elected in 2015, previously served on the Roswell City Council.

Not many times we hear of a wife being as active in politics as her husband is. This is certainly the case of Betty Price.

She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University. She met her then future husband while working at Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital –where Tom became the director. While her husband focused in orthopedics, Betty’s is in anesthesiology.

Prior to her career in politics, she served on the Boards of the Medical Association of Atlanta and the Medical Association of Georgia. She has also been a member of the American Medical Women’s Association.

According to her profile on the Georgia Senate page, Betty was re-elected in 2016.

She is the mother of the couple’s only child, son Robert Price. Betty’s son couldn’t have chosen a more different path than their parents. He is a musician and has directed videos for a Georgia based band called Mockingbird Sun. Accoridng to his Facebook page, Robert Price attended Vanderbilt University.

Both Betty and Tom Price are members of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia –where Betty Price also teaches Sunday school.
