Laverne Toney, the long time manager of blues legend’ Riley B. King better known as B.B King, has been accused of abuse and burglary! And that’s only by one of King’s daughters.
B.B King’s daughter Patty King accused Toney of elderly abuse last November, reports say. Patty and her husband accused the manager of elder abuse and burglary, claiming that Toney and her assistant had conned King out of $20 to $30 million dollars.
Most recently, Patty told media outlets, Toney refused to let her take her father to the hospital after B.B –who is considered one of the greatest guitarists –suffered a heart attack. Following Toney’s negative Patty was forced to call police whom agreed King needed medical assistance. Paramedics were called and B.B was taken to the hospital. According to TMZ, there is an ongoing battle between Patty and Toney.
LaVerne has the power of attorney over the guitarist and currently resides with the 89-year-old in Las Vegas.
According to IMDb Laverne appeared in the 2012 documentary “B.B. King: The Life of Riley.” He also appears on B.B King’s 2011 album “Icon.”
As it turns out, Patty is not the only one who thinks something is going on with Toney. Reports claim Karen Williams –B.B King’s other daughter –fears for her father’s death and has filed legal papers asking a judge to make her the guardian of her dad’s estate.
Toney is being accused by Willaims of neglecting B.B King, of not taking him to the dentist and of banning family and friends of visiting King at the hospital!
