Justin Bieber’s 61-year-old grandfather is George Bieber, father of Justin’s biological dad, Jeremy. He said while his grandson has amassed a reported $150 million in personal wealth, he lives in poverty and has not received any help from him. George added:
“It’s like we now live on different planets… He never calls us, and now I sometimes think he doesn’t care.”
George Bieber is a disabled, self-employed demolition contractor. He suffered a work-related back injury and his wife, Kathy, works at a grueling factory, barely earning enough for them to survive.
“I can’t work due to illness, so there is barely any money coming into the house and we only just about get by,” the grandfather said. “His grandma has a bad back, too, but works like a dog hauling huge bags of paint powder 40 hours a week.”
George also said that Justin hasn’t visited them in years, and that the only gifts he has received from his billionaire grandson are a TV and some Christmas money.
“It does make me sad, as right now our life is pretty desperate,” he said.
George Bieber lives with his wife Kathy in a squalid shack in Mitchell, Ontario. Due to his back condition, he is forced to sleep downstairs since he can’t get upstairs anymore. He sleeps on a filthy mattress in his living room where they proudly displays many family pictures with Justin in some of them. He even has a hole in his roof from a tree crashing through during an ice storm, and he has no money to repair it.
“It’s hard to imagine the money Justin has, as it’s about as far removed from our life as you could possibly get,” he said.
Justin’s mom, Pattie Mallette, revealed in her book “Nowhere but Up”, that she and Justin lived in poverty in Canada after she and Jeremy split. Jeremy now lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
