Frances McDormand has made a career playing brash, unconventional, tough women. She’s a true original who doesn’t fit into any Hollywood archetype. Most recently she played a vengeance-seeking mother who is let down by the authorities after her daughter is raped and murdered on ‘Three Billboards.’ During her acceptance speech she asked all women nominated across each category to stand up and be counted in aim to the #MeToo movement.

She is one of the few actresses who have achieved what is known as ‘the triple crown of acting’ having received two Oscars, Two Emmys and a Tony Award. She won her first Oscar over two decades ago for her participation on Fargo. Other credits under her belt include Almost Famous, Mississippi Burning, Burn After Reading, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and The Man Who Wasn’t There.
