Andreas Kronthaler was born in Tyrol, Austria, on January 26, 1966. He studied for five years at an art school in Austria. Andreas hoped to become a jeweler, but he also made clothes at his home.

Mr. Kronthaler eventually went to the Vienna School of Applied Art, initially studying Industrial Design and later switching to fashion design.

Andreas Kronthaler was a student at the Vienna School of Applied Art in 1988 when he met his professor, Vivianne Westwood; the two fell in love and by 1992, they decided to get married.
