Vishal Thakkar- NY man got his nose chopped by Dr. Angelo Cuzalina

After his divorce in 2006, Vishal Thakkar decided to ‘do something selfish’ and get a nose job. He was frequent patient of doctor Angelo Cuzalina, the president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, for more than eight surgeries over the course of six years. But he didn’t imagine what would happen to him: Thakkar woke up from his nose surgery to find out it had been chopped off!

Vishal Thakkar, a consultant with nearly 10 years of experience designing and creating websites for a variety of companies, is originally from New York but was living in Oklahoma so he went to one of the leading plastic surgeons in the area, Dr. Cuzalina. After his first surgery, Thakkar suffered some minor breathing problems while he slept or exercised. He went back to his doctor eight times within a year for various fixes.

Before one of many procedures, Thakkar specifically told one of Dr. Cuzalina’s nurses that he did not want them to take any cartilage from his ears to repair his nose. When he woke up a few hours later, he had pain behind his ears because they had done just that. Fox 23 says the doctor later emailed an apology to Thakkar.

But the final straw came in 2011, when he woke up from a surgery to find out his nose was removed entirely!

“He told me that there was an infection in there and since I was on the operating table and unconscious he had to make the decision,” Thakkar told Fox 23.

Thakkar filed a suit against the doctor, also stating that he had prescribed him a dangerous mix of medication. It states:

“Mr. Thakkar was prescribed an excessive amount of medication, enough to kill the patient, if taken, including but not limited to Loratab, Ambien, Valilum, and Oxycodone.”

Thakkar will undergo more plastic surgeries, as he is determined to fix his face. He said:

“There is no way I am going to live like this. It is worse than being dead.”
