Toni Martin is the mother of an 18-year-old black teen who was killed yesterday by a cop near the St. Louis area. The tragic scene was followed by protesters clashing with police, things got so heated, explosives were detonated and heavily armed police was deployed and arrests were made.
Mrs. Martin, footage arriving to the scene were her son’s body was kept overnight is devastating. She arrives at the petrol station where he was killed. She says she believes the pair were walking to the shop when the incident took place, referring to her son and his friend.
Martin’s father told CNN that his son headed out last night to spend the night with his girlfriend, while Toni told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that her son was expelled from school, but was trying to gain employment.
St Louis County Chief Jon Belmar said the officer only shot after the teenager raised his gun. So far the version of what happened says that, after the police officer was doing his routine check at the Mobil gas station he spotted two male suspects and after he got close, one of the suspects pulled a gun and the officer opened fire, killing one of them.
