Todd Herzog
Todd Herzog, a reality TV star who is best known for becoming the winner of Survivor China a decade ago, is blaming TV doctor Phil over a drunken appearance.
Born January 29, 1985, Todd who is openly gay, grew up along with brother, Tyler, and three sisters, Brandy, Kimmi and Tori.
He attended Pleasant Grove High School in Utah and also did two years of college at Utah Valley State College. At age 22, he became Survivor’s winner and a millionaire. However, his life spiraled downward into alcoholism.
You may remember, back in 2013 Todd made an appearance on Dr. Phil due to an alcoholism problem. He made for a dramatic TV moment when he had to be helped onto the Dr. Phil set and lifted into a chair. At the time it was said he was considered to be “closer to death than any Dr. Phil guest”
Now, four years after the intoxicated scene, Todd has come forward saying he was supplied Xanax and Vodka right before he went live with Dr. Phil. Todd claims he was left unattended in the show’s dressing room, where he found and drank an entire bottle of Smirnoff vodka.
He also claims he was then, handed a Xanax pill, with the suggestion it would “calm his nerves.” Todd believes the dangerous combination, resulted in what people witnesses on TV at the time.
Todd says he’s been sober for some time and he currently works at a restaurant in Utah. Previous work includes Todd working as a flight attendant, a manager at a movie theater and at a major theme park.
Though Todd Herzog says he is grateful to the show for being able to receive treatment he also said “There are some things about the show that I don’t like, and that I don’t think are real. …”
