Joseph D. Reitman was once married to American Pie actress, Shannon Elizabeth, unfortunately the two called it quits just a few years into their marriage.
Joseph’s wife is well known for her roles in several movies. The Texas born actress is perhaps best known for her starring turn in Hollywood’s American Pie series. Born Shannon Elizabeth Fadal on September 7, 1973 in Houston, Texas –she was actually set to become a professional tennis player while cheerleading in high school, however Shannon’s destiny change when she landed a role in a music video being filmed in her hometown.
Her career as a model took off and she made the move to New York. She eventually transitioned to acting after landing a few gigs on TV shows like Arli$$ and Hang Time, which then led to her breakout role as Nadia in American Pie in 1999. Since then the brunette stunner has over 40 film and television acting credits to her name. She is also well known for her poker abilities –for which she was labeled ‘one of the leading celebrity poker players.’
Shannon who is also an activist and vegan has remained single for a while, however that wasn’t always the case. She and fellow actor and celebrity poker player, Joseph D. Reitman were married for about five years. The couple tied the knot on June 15, 2002 but called it quits in 2007.
Joseph D. Reitman dated Shannon for a few years prior to their nuptials. The two appeared in movies like Tomcats and American Pie 2, and the two dated for seven years before finally tying the knot.
Unfortunately, the marriage was not fated to last. Following their divorce Reitman was engaged to ultimateBet pro Annie Duke, however they also broke up in 2012.
Reitman was born May 25, 1968; the Boston, MA.; native was set on a career in entertainment and made the move to California in order to attend Pitzer College –where she majored in theatre.
He landed numerous TV roles in some of the iconic shows at the time, including ‘Married with Children’ –where he played Kelly Bundy’s boyfriend. Other acting credits include The Perfect Storm, Lady in the Water’, Clueless among others. Last year, Joe was casted to play the “crazy and delusional” main villain in Season 1 of Syfy’s upcoming series Happy!
Aside from his career in entertainment, Joe Reitman also played at the World Series of Poker a few times and won UltimateBet.com’s $1 Million Guaranteed Tournament. He’s also played for charity.
During their time together Reitman and Shannon founded Animal Avengers, a non-profit animal rescue organization. Elizabeth keeps active working with the organization.
