Susan Mikula
Susan Mikula is the artist girlfriend of TV personality, Rachel Maddow –who hosts her own shows on MSNBC, The Rachel Maddow Show.
Susan’s partner is known as a political commentator and author, Maddow was born April 1, 1973. Maddow received a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Stanford University. She earned her doctorate in political science at Oxford University, which she attended on a Rhodes Scholarship.
Following graduation she landed jobs at WRNX in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and WRSI in Northampton, Massachusetts. She first came to prominence as a radio host on Air America Radio, where she worked from its inception in 2004.
Her Emmy Award-winning show was launched in 2008 and since, Maddow has made a name for herself as one who sees past the distractions of political theater and stunts and focuses on the legislative proposals and policies that shape American life.
Maddow who has been praised for her work receiving a number of awards including two Gracie Allen Awards, one being Outstanding Host – News/Non-fiction in 2012 –is also openly gay.

Susan and Rachel have been in a relationship since 1999. The two split their time between New York City and Massachusetts.
Accoridng to People the pair met after Susan hired Maddow to do yard work at her home in the Berkshires. At the time, Maddow was working on getting her doctoral dissertation and doing odd jobs. Their first date was at an NRA ‘Ladies Day On The Range’ event.
Mikula happens to be a talented photographer, she takes photographs on her SX-70 Polaroid camera. According to the SF Gate, she finds instant film on eBay and at yard sales and junk stores.
The 58-year-old artist has her own website –where she displays all of her work.
According to her page, Susan Mikula has exhibited her work in numerous group and solo shows beginning in 1998. Susan’s latest completed series of prints was showcased in 2015, its called “Photo Book,” and tells a story using antique toys.
Like her partner, Mikula is also an author who wrote Susan Mikula: American Bond, and Susan Mikula: Photographs, 2008.
