Rachael Denhollander Larry Nassar’s First Public Accuser

Rachael Denhollander

Rachael Denhollander is one of numerous women who were sexually abused by former US Olympic gymnastics team doctor, Larry Nassar.

It certainly is a good day for Denhollander after reports say Nassar received 175 years, more than the maximum sentence expected.

Denhollander who was the first woman to publicly accused him in 2016, said in court trauma at the abuse she suffered had “cast a horrific shadow” over her medical care when she gave birth to her three children.

Since accusing Nassar in 2016, Rachael’s actions encourage other women to come forward with their own story.

The disgraced doctor was recently sentenced to 40 to 175 years after a whopping 160 women came forward accusing him. Nassar pleaded guilty to 10 counts of sexual assault against girls and young women, including Olympians. He had already been sentenced to 60 years for possession of child ****ography.

Following an emotional seven-day hearing, Rachael was the last to address the court. She began saying “How much is a little girl worth? How much is a young woman worth?”

Rachael Denhollander was only 15-years-old when she was put in the care of Nassar. At the time, the Michigan native was a gymnast seeking treatment for her back problems.

In 2016 she came forward telling media Nassar abused her during every visit she made to his clinic over a year after she turned 15.

According to the BBC, Nassar would carry out sports massage with one hand. With the other, covered by a towel, he would insert his fingers into Rachael’s vagina or anus without gloves for several minutes –and with the allegation he was strengthening her muscles.

Rachael thought to herself there was no way MSU officials would allow him near her if it wasn’t appropriate treatment. She never had a clue of what was happening until during one of their last sessions. Nassar unhooked her bra and fondled her breasts, she then thought she was definitely being assaulted.

Rachael Denhollander is now a married woman, mom of three and lawyer. Prior to the scandalous sexual abuse case, Rachael was a stay at home mom living with her family in their Louisville home.

She met her husband, Jacob in 2006 and have since welcomed children Jonathan, 5, Annaliese, 2, and Ellianna, 21 months.

According to her LinkedIn, the 32-year-old serves as Director of Marketing and Recruitment at Oak Brook College of Law.
