Laura Aliva is the young lady who was left brain damaged following a cosmetic procedure in Mexico.
According to her family, Laura who is Dallas, Texas, resident went down to Mexico to get a nose job –but something went terribly wrong before doctors even performed the procedure. According to reports, a hospital in El Paso, Texas confirmed to the Avila family that Miss Avila suffered “severe brain damage so much so that she will never be herself again” Her sister, Angie told outlets “They told us she would never be able to walk or eat for herself again or speak.”
The 36-year-old stunner was left brain damaged after anesthesia was administered in the wrong place in her spine ahead of a rhinoplasty and breast implant replacement procedure at a clinic in Mexico last month. Laura Avila went in for the procedure at the Rino Center in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, on October 30th. Her fiancé, Enrique Cruz was with her at the time. Cruz was told by doctors in Mexico that his girlfriend had suffered cardiac arrest ahead of the procedure and wouldn’t let him see her.
Avila was then placed into a medically-induced coma to prevent further damage to her brain. The family was told that Laura’s brain swelled, her kidneys failed and she went into cardiac arrest –all because Rino Center put the anesthesia in the wrong place in Laura’s spine. She has since been transferred to a hospital in El Paso, Texas.
According to her LinkedIn page, Laura Avila has worked for various realty companies in the Dallas-area. She is currently listed as a realtor at JP and Associates Realtors Uptown.
She previously worked in sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry. Avila is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso. Avila has been a volunteer for breast cancer awareness, the American Cancer Society and Latinitas, the latter being a group that helps Hispanic women find scholarships and mentorships.
