Jonathan Gillibrand hails from the U.K. he was born on August 15, 1965. He and Senator Kirsten met while he was attending Columbia to earn an MBA back in 1999.
At the time, according to NY Mag , Jonathan was actually in another relationship with a friend of Kirsten’s.
The story goes that once her friend stopped seeing him, Kirsten asked if it was okay if she contacted him. Long story short, she and Jonathan bonded and by their second date, their shared Catholic heritage seal the deal by attending mass at St. Ignatius, on the Upper East Side.
Jonathan who also goes by Johnny had planned to stay in the U.S only for a year but his relationship with Kirsten made him change his mind. They were married in 2001.
The British-born Gillibrand –who is two years younger than his wife –works in finance, he is a financial manager and venture capitalist.
According to his LinkedIn Jonathan Gillibrand is the current Managing Director at Palm Beach International and Owner of Palm Beach International.
Jonathan and Kristen have two sons Theodore born in 2003 and Henry, born in 2008. Jonathan Gillibrand and his family currently reside in Brunswick, New York.
