Bushra Maneka is the proud wife of politician Imran Khan –the current Prime Minister of Pakistan.



Bushra’s husband has announced he will release captured India Air Force Pilot Abhinandan –as an act of god will in an attempt to de-escalate tensions between the two countries.

PM Khan is a former cricketer turned politician who assumed office last year. Born Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi on 5 October 1952 in Lahore, Pakistan – He was schooled at Lahore’s elite all-boys Aitchison College before graduating from Oxford University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics.

He made his international debut for Pakistan’s national cricket team at age 18. Following the country’s only victory only at the 1992 World Cup –Khan retired from the sport and focused on philanthropy and social work.

He entered the political realm in 1996, founding and becoming the leader of his centrist party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). After a provincial victory at the 2013 general elections, PTI governed the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province for five years.

He led protests in 2014, demanding that the government, led by Nawaz Sharif’s resign over alleged poll-rigging. Khan pushed the Supreme Court case instigated by the Panama Papers leak scandal against Sharif, which ultimately led to his disqualification and imprisonment.

Bushra Maneka is his third and current wife. He was previously married to Jemina Goldsmith and Reham Khan. Maneka and Khan were married in 2018.

Bushra Maneka was born Bushra Wattoo on August 16, 1968 in Pakpattan, Punjab, Pakistan. Her family belongs to the Wattoo clan –a conservative, politically influential family from central Punjab.

Bushra is well known in her native country as a spiritual mentor who practices Sufi Islam and she is described as a Sufi scholar.

She and Khan met around 2015 after she had been serving as his spiritual adviser.

Their union came as a scandal after she divorced first husband Khawar Maneka to marry Khan. Bushra Maneka and Khawar Maneka were married from 1987 until 2017, she is the mother of the former couple’s five children; three daughters and two sons. One of her daughters, Mehru Hayat, joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Bushra is the first veil-wearing First Lady of Pakistan –in fact, Khan said during an interview he had not seen her face until they were married. During her first interview as First Lady, she spoke about how Imran Khan and her connection with Sufism brought them together.

She also spoke about her appearance saying “My veil doesn’t define that I am not modern. I should be judged on the basis of my personality, not my face.” And denied rumors of the reason behind her marriage with Imran. There were many reports that stated that Bushra married him after she had a dream.
