Stella’s famous husband has certainly done well for himself, the Welsh actor is revered on stage and renowned on screen. Arroyave is actually Hopkins’ third wife. He was first married to Petronella Barker, from 1967 to 1972. He and Barker had one daughter, Abigail Hopkins, who was born in 1968.

He married second wife, Jennifer Lynton in 1973, however they also split and were divorced in 2002. The following year he and Stella Arroyave tied the knot on March 1, 2003.

Stella is a Colombian native and antiques dealer. The two met while he stepped inside her shop to look around and long story short, they have been together ever since. Stella Arroyave is nowadays described as an actress and film producer.

According to her IMDb page, she was born March 20, 1956 in Popayán, Colombia. She is an actress and producer, known for Slipstream (2007), The Human Stain (2003).

In numerous interviews, Hopkins has credited Stella with saving him from depression. He says she has lead him to start painting, playing the piano, collect cats and dogs. He says about her: “Every day she wakes up happy. She’s very positive about everything. I learnt from her just to take life as it comes. So I live my life in non -expectation.”

By marrying Hopkins, Stella Arroyave also became the stepmother to his only child, daughter Abigail –who is said to be estranged from her famous father.
