Alexandra Trent
Alexandra Trent is the woman who served as surrogate for Flipping Out star, Jeff Lewis and his partner, Gage Edward.
Trent who was featured in numerous episodes during her pregnancy and who was once super close to the couple, is now suing them! The woman feels like she was ‘deeply humiliated’ by them, and says according to a complaint obtained by People , that comments made by them “caused incredible anguish, self-loathing, contempt and depression.”
It all began after Jeff Lewis said during interview setups, following the birth of their son, “If I was a surrogate, and I had known there was going to be an audience, I probably would have waxed. And that was the shocking part for Gage. I don’t think Gage had ever seen a vagina, let alone one that big.”
The offensive comment made Trent feel ‘deeply damaged’ and is now seeking damages for unlawful recording, invasion of privacy and fraud.
In addition she is also accusing Bravo’s Flipping Out producers Authentic Entertainment, of filming her vagina without permission. Trent further says she never gave her consent to have her delivery filmed.
According to the suit, Trent claims she had no interest in being on Flipping Out and did not know she would be on a reality show when she responded to Lewis and Edward.
In the spirit of helping promote the option of surrogacy, she ultimately agreed to filming ultrasound appointments. However, she drew the line at filming the birth. She says camera operators secretly filmed her from behind a curtain in the hospital, despite telling her they wouldn’t. The documents also detail that her doctors were unaware cameras were rolling and her blurred-out vagina was shown on-screen.
On the other hand, Lewis apologized for his comments and even sent her an apology note and flowers but is shocked with the rest of her claims, saying he things this is all a case of ‘financial shakedown.’
