Robert Miles
Robert Miles, the Swiss/ Italian DJ known for his trance/ chill-out tracks died at the age of 47, after a short battle with stage 4 metastatic cancer.
Robert’s 1996’s Dreamland hit the Top 10 in seven countries – charting at number two in Switzerland and Germany. With the news of his sudden death, one question lingers; Miles was gay or straight? Did he have a girlfriend or was he married? If so, then who is his wife?
The son of Italian immigrants Albino Concina and Antonietta Lauro, Robert was born on November 3, 1969, in Fleurier, Switzerland. He moved back to Italy when he was still a young child.
Miles learned to play the piano at an early age, worked as a DJ in small local clubs. He decided to drop out of school and pursued DJing. He released the single “Children” in 1995, followed by Fable One and One with the collaboration of Polish pop singer Edyta Gorniak and finally the released of his debut album Dreamland on June 7, 1996.
His second album 23am released in November 1997, included another famous track, “Freedom”.
Organik, the third album released under his own record label independent record label S:alt Records, hit the market in 2001.
Miles_Gurtu, the fourth album was released in 2004, included special collaborations by Paul Faloon, Mike Patto, Nitin Sawhney and John Thorne. After the released of his fifth album Th1rt3en in February 2011, he founded Open Lab, his FM online alternative radio station.
As for his personal life, it remains quite a mystery, some people are 100% he was straight, although we couldn’t find the existence of a girlfriend, even less a wife.
