Lynne Margulies is the woman who was in a relationship with epic comedian Andy Kaufman when he died. She’s the younger sister of actor, Johnny Legend.

Born on February 28, 1957 in San Fernando, California,. She is described as a talented artist, film editor, writer, producer and director. According to her IMDb she participated in the gritty end-of-the-world science fiction movie “The Aftermath.” She edited and produced TV commercials for a few years in the early 80s.

She met Andy whom she describes as her soul mate while playing a small part in comedy feature “My Breakfast with Blassie” and remained Kaufman’s girlfriend right up till his untimely death from lung cancer. She allegedly suggested to Andy to get married months before his death.

According to FilmZone in 1983 she wrote, produced and directed the film: “Andy Kaufman: I’m from Hollywood” which was released in 1989.

After the death of Andy she retired from the spotlight and it took her over a decade to comeback to Hollywood. She recalls during an interview a few years ago:

“I was like a zombie” “The months following Andy’s death were like fog for me”

She was his girlfriend from 1982 until his passing in 1984. In the 1999 “Man on the Moon” movie which is the film about the life and career of the eccentric avant-garde comedian, she was a creative consultant and her role was played by actress Courtney Love.

In the latest of what has been a series of allegations saying the actor is alive and raising a 24-year-old daughter, significant other Lynne Margulies has come forward to set the records straight! The 56-year-old told TMZ she was present inside the West Hollywood hospital room when Kaufman passed away in 1984 from a rare form of lung cancer. She was there, and she insists she saw him die with her own eyes. She says,

“I was in the hospital room. I was there. They would have had to switch bodies.”

What Lynne makes out of the recent claims made earlier this week by Andy’s own brother Michael who was hosting the 9th Annual Andy Kaufman Awards when the whole “Andy faked his death” began, she only says the woman claiming to be his daughter is just trying to continue with Andy’s legacy by “pulling an Andy” with the epic and bizarre myth of the comic’s work.

So there wouldn’t be a doubt, TMZ even got Andy’s official L.A. County death record, which lists his date of death as May 16, 1984. Ultimately the whole thing was revealed to be a hoax, The Smoking Gun reported who identified herself as the late actor’s child is Alexandra Tatarsky, an actress whose real father is a psychiatrist, according to the New York Daily News and as far as the late actor’ brother is now insisting he was not in on the gag.
