Meet John Robinson

John Robinson is one of the three lucky winners of the record braking jackpot! After finding out he was the winner, Robison admits he didn’t know what to do. He and his family were put in touch with a lawyer who told them to reveal themselves on TODAY.



John Robinson along with his family travelled to NY to appear this morning and give the exclusive interview. He actually admitted he wasn’t feeling like getting the tickets but it was his wife, Lisa who call to ask him if he was going to stop by and get them. John –who was coming home from work –said:

“I really didn’t feel like stopping that night, but I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll stop.’ I came home, and I wasn’t feeling good, and I handed the tickets to her (Lisa) and said, ‘I’m going to go lay down.”’

Lisa watched the drawing and triple-checked the numbers before waking up John with the news! John Robinson also said he bought the tickets at Naifeh’s Food Mart. He got four of them like he always does, to represent each member of the family.

John, currently works at a maintenance distribution center. His wife Lisa, works in a dermatologist’s office. They are parents of one daughter and a son. The couple reside in Munford, Tennessee. John Robinson got the tickets just a block away from their home.

According to TODAY, the prize is roughly $533 million if they choose the lump-sum payment, which is $327.8 million after taxes.

John Robinson is required to get in touch with Tennessee lottery officials and is planning to do so, after his appearance on the show. He also said he’ll be nervous now that everybody knows.

Though his tickets haven’t been officially verified, media outlets have reported that one of the winners was sold at Naifeh’s in Munford along with one each in Florida and California.

According to his Facebook profile, John Robinson, is a Field Engineer at Logical Systems, LLC. He attended Munford High School in Atoka, Tennessee. He is 58-years-old.

Lisa is listed as working at Memphis Dermatology Clinic. She also attended the same high school.
