Meet Bryce Williams/Vester Lee Flanagan II

41-year-old Vester Lee Flanagan II has been identified as the gunman who viciously shot dead two broadcast journalists during a live interview this morning in Virginia! The victims were named by CBS’s general manager as 24-year-old reporter Alison Parker and her cameraman, Adam Ward, 27.



Vester Lee Flanagan is a former reporter at WBDJ who went by the name Bryce Williams. Reports say he was fired form the station.

Bryce Williams/ Vester Lee Flanagan -who filmed himself and was caught in live footage during the shooting -has been taunting police. The Police department, which began the hunt for the suspect, say a man claiming to be the shooter posted to Twitter and Facebook a video of the shooting hours later, while on the run. Those accounts were quickly taken down.

The accounts also posted an apparent justification for the shootings, accusing the reporter of having made racist comments and the cameraman of having reported the suspect to human resources, NBCnews reports.

Both the Twitter and FB accounts, believed to belong to the suspect, under the name Bryce Williams.

According to a 2012 article, Williams was hired by the Roanoke CBS-affiliate WDBJ, in April 2012 and left the station in September 2013. He is described as a multimedia journalist and general assignment reporter. Previously worked as a reporter at a number of stations throughout the South, including WNCT in Greenville, NC, WTWC in Tallahassee, and WTOC in Savannah.

Sources say Flanagan is presumably, Alison Parker’s ex-boyfriend –which could give the shooter a motive. Other theories say, he could have a vendetta against his former bosses.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe confirmed authorities identified the suspected shooter, Bryce Williams, was identified as the suspect by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office.
