Zubeidat K. Tsarnaeva is the Chechen mother of the two Boston bombing suspects, and surprisingly, she has a criminal record of her own! Reportedly, she was arrested last year for stealing $1,600 worth of clothes from the upscale department store Lord & Taylor in Natick, Massachusetts.

45-year-old Zubeidat K. Tsarnaeva was charged on June 13, 2012 with two counts of malicious damage and defacement to property. She stole $1,624 in women’s clothes, according to reports.

7:24 p.m.: Police received a call for teenagers causing a loud disturbance at the Natick Common, East Central Street. Police responded and arrested Michael Schultz, 20, listed as homeless. He was charged with assault and disorderly conduct.

7:42 p.m.: Loss prevention from Lord & Taylor called to report they had detained a shoplifter. Zubeidat K. Tsarnaeva, 45, of 410 Norfolk St., Apt. 3, Cambridge, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 (women’s clothing valued at $1,624), and two counts of malicious/wanton damage/defacement to property.

The brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, were caught on tape by a security camera at a different Lord & Taylor store on Boylston Street the day of Boston Marathon. They allegedly left two bombs near the finish line on Monday, the tragedy left three dead and 183 injured.

The FBI released those CCTV images of the two brothers Thursday evening and later that night Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police in Watertown. At this time, Dzhokhar is still fugitive and considered by authorities to be armed and extremely dangerous. The city of Boston is on lock down, police have warned residents to stay indoors, public transportation has been shut down, and there’s no-fly zone around the city.

The entire family is believed to be a legal immigrant to the U.S. They reportedly entered the US in 2002 or 2003 and Tamerlan became a legal permanent resident in 2007. Dzhokhar arrived a year ago from the Russian region of Chechnya. The family also includes two daughters, Bella and Amina, one of them living in New Jersey.

“They arrived from Kyrgyzstan and departed to the US. I’m telling you they lived here for a year. Not the whole year. They arrived at the school in 2001 and departed in March 2002 … There were four of them – two sisters and two brothers… It’s written here that they are from Kyrgyzstan.”

The family tree is unclear, though the Associated Press spoke with the boys’ father Anzor Tsamaev who lives in an area of Russia called Makhachkala.

‘My son is a true angel,’ Anzor said.

45-year-old Zubeidat K. Tsarnaeva was born on May 08, 1967 in Dagestan, she was 17 when she met her and her husband 46-year-old Anzor Tsarnaev (b. June 01, 1966) whilst completing his two years of military service.

After they got married they had four children together Tamerlan (b. June 01, 1966), Bella (b. June 17, 1988), Ailina (b. July 12, 1990) and Dzhokhar (b. July 22, 1993),  in 2002 she and her family moved from Russia to Cambridge, MA, where she got a job at a Spa giving facials.

After Zubeidat left her job at the Spa some of her clients continue to hired her services by going to her third floor apartment located on 410 Norfolk St., right on the line of Cambridge and Somerville. Mrs. Tsarnaeva moved back to Dagestan last year and separated from her husband, althought some said they are still together..

Zubeidat Tsarnaeva spoke to media and said her son called her few days after the bombings and told her that the FBI had called to inform him that they considered him a suspect and he should come in for questioning.

She said her son refused. “I told them, what do you suspect me of?” Tsarnaeva quoted her son as saying. “This is your problem and if you need me you should come to where I am.”

The next time she heard from her son was just minutes before he was killed ..

“The police, they have started shooting at us, they are chasing us,’ Tsarnaev told his mother Zubeidat Tsarnaeva.

Then, finally, before hanging up Tsarnaev said: ‘Mama, I love you.’

Zubeidat said her sons were set up, and suggested that Tamerlan is still alive..

“really mad and angry at America” for framing her children. “Somebody did this, somebody set this up, not my kids. Whoever is dead over there, it’s not my son. The body is half of the body of my son, you know what I mean? So this is not my son.”

“What happened is a terrible thing but I know my kids have nothing to do with it.

“I know it, I am their mother; I know my kids. My kids would never get involved in anything like that. The first day when I hear this, I was mad and angry at America, I knew it was a set up. Somebody set this up. It was not my kids.

“I have no words, my son is alive and I hope we get the truth. Give this message to the whole world, whoever knows my kids, whoever knows me, I never raise my kids bad. I want my kids to get their honour back. “
