Recent reports indicate devastating information about pilot Sondheimer, for instance, he joined Germanwings 11 months ago only to be able to spend more time with his family. According to the TheAustralian, Sondheimer took the job so that the short European flights would not keep him away from his two children. Patrick leaves behind a wife, a six-year-old daughter and a three-year- old son.

Patrick was also much younger than expected, he was only 34-years-old. The narrative describing the last minutes of the flight revealed that Patrick took a bathroom brake encouraged by Lubitz, following his absence Lubitz then locks the cockpit door leaving Patrick locked out.

In the following minutes and as Patrick tries to get back in and realizes something is going on, Sondheimer was heard screaming to Lubitz: “For God’s sake, open the door,’’ loud metallic blows against the door can be picked up, which are believed to have been his efforts to get back inside by using an axe.

The automated alarm signal can be heard saying: “Terrain, Pull up, pull up” And Patrick one mire time pleading Lubitz to “Open the **** door!” as terrified passengers screamed in the background. Only 8-minutes after he leaves his seat, it’s all over.
