Cancer; the dreaded word that can end someone’s life but not their thoughts, not their memory, not the wonderful things you do. Alan Ainsley, husband to a super woman, a super wonderful human being; one of those that we rarely find.

I’m talking about blogger Louise Page. Louise, 42, from Edinburgh was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer in December 2012, just two weeks after her two-year wedding anniversary. She suffered from a rare form of bone cancer called Dedifferentiated Adamantinoma in her left leg since 2004.

It was her husband Alan that suggested Louise to start writing about her feelings about her terminal cancer diagnosis. That is how she permanently touched people’s lives; she has had well-wishing messages from readers as far away New Zealand. But sadly after battling with cancer for a decade she lost her life on May 19th. Alan Ainsley announced his loss by simply updating her blog with the words:

‘My darling, beautiful wife and best friend 15.12.70 – 19.05.13xxxxxxxx’

Alan and wife Louise sure lived an incredible journey together, one can only hope to find someone who can complement one another. It can’t be easy to be going through painful moments an still be able to inspire others as Alan’s wife bravely did.
