Meet Charles Black Jr. The son of iconic child star, Shirley Temple and Navy intelligence officer and business man, Charles Alden Black. Temple gave birth to their son, Charles Alden Black, Jr., in Washington, D.C., on April 28, 1952.

His parents were married Del Monte, California, on December 16, 1950. He was Shirley’s first child from her second marriage. His mother was previously married to John Agar, with whom she had one daughter and Charles Jr.; older sister, Linda Susan.

Charles, father was a Silver Star recipient and son of James B. Black, the president and later chairman of Pacific Gas and Electric, and reputedly one of the richest young men in California.

His father was recalled to the Navy at the outbreak of the Korean War but following the war’s end and Black’s discharge from the Navy, the family returned to California in May 1953.

Then in 1954, Charles’ mother gave birth to younger sister, Lori Black; becoming a big happy family of five. We can see in the first picture below little Charles along with mother and sister Linda and next to that, both his parents and sisters.

At his mother’s request Charles tried acting for a while. His only acting credit is the 1958 TV series, Shirley Temple’s Storybook. He was “Andy” during two episodes.

But it seems he had other ambitions. We did found a profile of Charles Alden Black, Jr.; a licensed real estate Broker doing business as one of Alain Pinel´s Broker Associates.

Charlie´s real estate activities and developed expertise over nearly ten years have encompassed the broader residential markets of both San Francisco and the Peninsula, he places a special emphasis on the City´s neighborhoods west of Twin Peaks.

Charlie received a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University in 1976, and pursued further studies at the Monterey Institute of Foreign Studies, M.I.T./Harvard Law and Tufts University´s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. You can read more here.

His parents were married for 55-years until his father’s death at age 86, in 2005 from myelodysplastic syndrome. At the time of his father’s death, Charles Black Jr., said that over the past half a century his parents

“didn’t sleep apart from each other for more than a couple of days. They adored each other.”

And now his parents, are together once again as we learned the sad decease of his iconic mother.
