Charles Dean Bryant
Charles Dean Bryant, was the last person seen with Jacqueline Vandagriff, the Texas college student whose body was found dismembered and burn inside a blue kiddie pool.
The pool coincides with the pool mentioned by his ex-girlfriend in the restriction order she has against him.
Charles Bryant Jr., 30 from Grapevine, Texas was born August 8, 1986. He previously lived in Bremerton, Washington and is related to Yvette Hillerman Bryant, 49, and Charles Bryant, 50.
Bryant worked at the Urban Cowboy Saloon (a gay bar) and at a ProCore fitness in Southlake. He was first arrested in a forgery case in 2010, three years later in a possession of marijuana charge.
His most recent arrest came on September 8, at the University of North Texas arrested him in a criminal trespassing case and then again two days later for stalking.
Due to his last arrest a woman filed a request for a protective order against him. After paying bail he was released on September 9.
Meeting a guy online?
Jacqueline Vandagriff tweeted about meeting a guy on Tinder, she also tweeted about getting off tinder and walking to a bar instead.
Security footage showed Ms.Vandagriff and Bryant talking first at Fry Street Public House and Shots and Crafts before they left together at 11 p.m. That would have been the last time Jacqueline was seen alive.
Firefighters responded to a fire in Acorn Woods Park by Grapevine Lake and a witness told them about seeing a white male standing near the fire before leaving in a light colored SUV.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters found a partly dismembered body and accelerant used to set the fire.
Dismembered and Burned
According to the report fingerprints identified the victim as Jacqueline Rae Vandagriff.
Bryant was caught on video buying a shovel at 4:41 a.m. at a local Walmart. Evidence of someone trying to dig a hole in his backyard was found along with Jacqueline’s purse in the trash.
A blue kiddie pool was mentioned in the restraining order filed by Bryant ex-girlfriend. His roommate confirmed he saw a blue pool similar to the one where Jacqueline’s body was found.
He also said that he saw two pools, but police found just one. Even though the blue kiddie pool was nowhere to be found, the round patch of dead grass where it could have sat was in Bryant’s backyard.
At first, when he was questioned by the police, Charles Bryant denied meeting and leaving the bar with Jacqueline.
There was no denying after seeing the footage from the security cameras at both bars and the one from Walmart. He was arrested and charged with capital murder. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
