I am a happy and enthusiastic individual currently in my first year at Loughborough University studying Sport and Exercise Science. Through my school career I gained 9A*s and 2As at GCSE, 4As at AS level and 3As at A level and was also lucky enough to participate in a lot of sport.

I played in the U18 East district hockey team and was a member of the 2006 and 2007 O17Scottish Schools 4×100 relay champions team but my proudest achievement was playing for and representing Scotland in the U19 World Lacrosse Championships, Canada 2007. I captained the three girls major sports and was awarded the Player of the Year award for hockey, the Agnew Quiach for contribution to lacrosse and the Sutcliffe Cup for the Outstanding Sportswoman of the year.

I was also a school prefect in my final year and head of house which I really enjoyed. I was lucky enough to go on many Outward Bound courses and am currently completing the skill element of my Duke of Edinburgh Gold having completed the expedition last year canoeing in Loch Ness.

For me sport dominated my school career, however I was also a member of the school choir and performed in the house play “Steel Magnolias”. I have always been a keen participant in everything that I do so I feel my main talent is my ability to get involved.

Sport plays a large role and I love to be active whether playing hockey, lacrosse or just having a squash match with a friend. I also love spending time with my family when I’m at home and with my friends at university.

My ambitions in life are to have a good career which I enjoy, possibly in teaching but I think I need to do more research before I decide. I would like to go travelling when I leave university as I missed out on having a gap year and I think it would be amazing to go when I have some qualifications that would allow me to do some much.

I am also saving up for a volunteer holiday working with sea turtles in Costa Rica which I, and a friend, have been planning for a long time. I would like, one day, to settle down but my main ambition is to always try and enjoy life and get as much out of it as I can and to be happy.
