After the big opening release of Iron Man 3, passing the $740 million mark in worldwide ticket sales, Deadline Hollywood reported that The Avengers director, Joss Whedon, might be getting paid $100 million for the next Avengers movie. He denied it saying:
““I’m not getting $100 mil[lion] on Avengers 2. I’m not making Downey money,” he wrote, insisting the $100 million figure is way off. “I’m not pretending to be a poor farmer … but that numbers is nuts”.
Joss Whedon has been married to Kai Cole for almost twenty years, they have two children: a son named Arden Cole, born in 2002, and a daughter named Squire Cole. They live in Santa Monica, in a circa 1924 Spanish Colonial Revival house.
“The Avengers,” says Whedon’s wife Kai Cole, “is perfect for a man who still reads comic books. He loves ‘The Avengers.’ He knows all the characters. He’s a geek!”
Kai Cole is the producer and co-founder of Bellwether Pictures, a “micro-studio” designed to mount micro-budgeted indie films.
Cole co-produced with her husband the adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing (2012). Whedon wrote, produced and directed it. The movie was shot in and around their own home in Santa Monica, California, which was designed by Cole. Much Ado About Nothing was the first feature film by Bellwether Pictures and is set to have its North American theatrical release on June 7, 2013.
Kai Cole also produced In Your Eyes (2013).
