Jay Pharoah, is the performer we know from his gig at SNL, and though he is only 29, he already has established himself as one of the greatest Saturday Night Live cast members.

He was born Jared Antonio Farrow on October 14, 1987. The Chesapeake, Virginia native was born with a talent that was discovered early on. By age 15 he was already known in stand-up comedy circles and community theaters.

Jay graduated from Chesapeake’s Indian River High School in 2005. He caught public attention and grew in popularity after his impression of President Barack Obama became a hit on YouTube.

He went on to tour in the U.K., U.S. and Montreal.

SNL was definitely the next move for Pharoah, he joined the cast in 2010. He added to his repertoire other impersonations including Jay-Z and Kanye West, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Stephen A. Smith, among others.

After six successful seasons as a cast member of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” Pharoah was ranked the 55th greatest Saturday Night Live cast member by Rolling Stone magazine.

Aside from his SNL gig, he has released a series of music videos through Above Average including “Bad Kisser,” a parody on Usher’s “Good Kisser,” and “Problems.”

Prior to that, his Kanye West parody, “I Am a Dog,” became an instant viral video reaching over a million views within the first week.

He also teamed up with Michelle Obama to create a viral rap video, “Go to College,” promoting the value of higher education.

In 2015, he debuted his first stand-up comedy special, “Jay Pharoah: Can I Be Me?”, on Showtime. His film credits include Get a Job, Ride Along and Top Five.

To wrap up this year in style, he co-hosted the AMA’s and gave us a stellar Donald Trump impression.
