Steve Reinboldt: Dennis Hastert’s Sex Abuse Victim

Former Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert has one more problem to worry about. The 73-year-old allegedly lied to the FBI and violated federal banking laws to cover-up past misconduct, as if that isn’t enough, now, he needs to respond to allegations concerning sexual abuse! And it might all be connected!

Dennis allegedly abuse his power while he was the wrestling coach of the Yorkville, Illinois wrestling team and sexually abused his equipment manager, Steve Reinboldt.

Reinboldt unfortunately isn’t around to confirm the accusations, he died of AIDS in 1995. However, his sister, Jolene Reinboldt has come out and revealed her deceased brother was Hastert’s victim throughout Steve’s four years of high school.

In an interview with ABC, Jolene said she first learned of her late brother’s purported years-long sexual abuse at the hands of Dennis in 1979, that’s eight-years her brother had graduated from high school.

That was the year her brother, Steve came out to her as gay. When she asked him “when was your first same sex experience. He looked at me and said, ‘It was with Dennis Hastert’”

The reason Steve didn’t say anything was because he thought no one would believe him.

As team student manager Steve’s duties included showing up before the meets and stay after them, which meant plenty of alone time with Hastert.

Jolene –who believes in her brother’s story 100% –also said Hastert appeared at her brother’s funeral, she followed him to his car and confronted him,  she says Hastert just listened and stared at her. For years she tried to exposed him but didn’t succeed until now.

Jolene had given up –after she sat year after year watching Denis get away with it –when about two weeks, she got a message from the FBI, saying they wanted to talk about Hastert. The FBI discovered Hastert had been paying someone (individual A) to keep quiet about his past sexual misconduct; Jolene says this person must have been familiar with her brother’s ordeal.

She believes Hastert damaged Steve more than she’ll ever know but is happy to have finally ‘got him’ as she believes there could be more victims.
