Sharon Reed is an Atlanta based news anchor who grabbed news herself for responding live on air to a viewer who sent her an email calling her the n-word.



She addressed the email containing the racial slur –head on with a graceful and powerful response “But I could clap back and say a few things to you. But instead I’ll let your words, Kathy Rae, speak for themselves. And that will be the last word.” Read her full response here.

The viewer insulting Reed was identified as Kathy Rae.

Sharon Reed is an Emmy nominated anchor who has moderated Town Hall Meetings, been an NBA and NFL sideline reporter and a talk radio host.

Sharon is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She began her broadcasting career as an on-air correspondent for the syndicated program “American Journal” right out of college.

She is currently employed in Atlanta at CBS 46 –where she began working in 2015 and is a former Channel 19 News anchor and former NBC10 anchor. Sharon has previously worked as an anchor and reporter in St Louis, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Miami and Baltimore.

She landed her past job at NBC10 in December 1999, and she worked the station’s evening newscasts until 2002. She left amid an online harassment controversy that pitted her against fellow staffer Alicia Taylor.

After leaving NBC10, Reed landed at WOIO, a CBS affiliate in Cleveland. She made national headlines while at the station in 2004 after appearing in a nude photo for a story about artist Spencer Tunick.

The stunning news reporter has also made news for her romances as she’s been linked to LeBron James, Aaron McKie, as well as former Eagle Donovan McNabb.
