Daniel Hincapie is the devastated boyfriend of Wendy Martinez a Washington, D.C. woman who was killed while jogging.

Daniel’s girlfriend and who was supposed to become his wife was viciously and senseless stabbed by an unidentified man on Tuesday night while out for a jog. After the attack, Wendy Martinez managed to make her way into a restaurant, where customers attempted to save her life.

35-year-old Martinez was described by family members as a driven professional, a devout Christian and an avid runner.

She served as Chief of Staff of FiscalNote, a privately held software, data and media company headquartered in D.C. She held B.A. and M.A. Degrees.

Martinez, a beautiful brunette was also active on Twitter where she wrote on her bio, “Tech Focused + Entrepreneurship + Strategic Partnerships. Believer in doing well by doing good.”

She was repeatedly stabbed to death while jogging through D.C.’s Logan Circle neighborhood, authorities said. Just days prior to her killing she had become engaged to Daniel Hincapie.

According to social media, Daniel Hincapie is a Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Specialist. He works at the Inter-American Development Bank.

According to his LinkedIn, he holds a Bachelor’s degree, Finance and International Affairs and a Master’s degree, International Business, Trade, and Tax Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Daniel Hincapie also holds a Master’s degree, International Relations and Affairs from Columbia University. He began working at the Inter-American Development Bank in 2009.

A man has been arrested in connection with her death, according to reports, 23-year-old Anthony Crawford is the responsible for Wendy’s death. He has been charged with first-degree murder. Police believes the attack was more likely a random act than anything else.
