Cynthia Wachenheim with husband

NY mom Cynthia Wachenheim, who leaped to her death from her eight-floor apartment window holding her 10-month-old son on her chest, was married to Hal Bacharach.

Cynthia’s 48-year-old husband was at work when his wife jumped. Baby Keston, miraculously survived. He is in Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

Wachenheim left a 13-page suicide note saying she was not happy and what she was planning to do. On the last page she refers to postpartum depression. She also said to her husband:

“I love you. I’m making you suffer. You’re going to think I’m evil,’” a source said.

A neighbor told The New York Post that she heard Cynthia arguing with her husband on Wednesday noon, less than three hours before she jumped. He was heard yelling at her, asking her over and over again why she wouldn’t pick up the phone.

He was seen on surveillance video leaving the apartment building after the argument.

Neighbor Christina Johnson told the New York Times the victim and her family had lived in the building for about three years, and she had never heard the parents fight until that day.

Cynthia and her husband Hal lived in the $300,000 apartment at The Sutton, at 147th Street and Bradhurst Avenue, with their baby Keston, the couple’s only child together. Hal Bacharach works on sales. He was born on October 13, 1964. Before living in New York, Hal had lived in Boston, Massachusetts from 1987 to 1991.

We found a profile of Hal Bacharach who works in Mutual of America Capital Management Corporation, at Park Avenue, but we are not sure if it’s him. Check out the profile here and here.
