Rebecca Wichs is the wife of David Wichs, identified as the victim killed when a crane collapsed on to his car in New York. Mr. Wichs a Prage immigrant and Harvard graduate was married to Rebecca Guttman Wichs.



Rebecca Wicks’ husband  David Wichs, 38,  was born in Prage to parents Dr. Tomas Wichs, a computer scientist, and Dr. Angela Wichs a well known Borough Park pediatrician. Mr. Wicks moved to the U.S when he was a teenager. He graduated from Yeshiva of Flatbush and from Harvard University with a degree in mathematics.

Mr. Wichs had been working at a trading firm, Tower Research Capital; a financial trading firm with offices in Lower Manhattan, located just two and a half blocks from the site where he was killed.

David Wichs described by friends and family as a brilliant, wonderful person was co-chair of a men’s group under the auspices of the campus Hillel while at Harvard.

“He was an angel, an absolute angel,” said a man leaving Wich’s apartment building on W. 81st St.

“He was a wonderful, wonderful person. He was the best, the absolute best, and that’s what makes this tragedy that much greater,” said the man, who identified himself as the family’s rabbi.

He was married to his wife Rebecca Guttman now Rebecca Wichs on January 20, 2013, they were members of Kehilath Jeshurun, a modern Orthodox congregation on the Upper East Side.
